Situation: This is one of those situations where the client has a good sense of humor and wants to do something that will get people talking. The work was to run as ads in the Dallas Observer, a weekly newspaper with a mostly young adult audience and as in-store posters. Solution: The best thing about working for clients like this one is they pretty much let you do anything as long as it’s not illegal. We decided to juxtapose beautiful photography of a cow, a stately oak tree and a bottleneck swan with the equally beautiful photography of the piece of furniture that they would one day become a part of. The images were tied together with the unlikely means in which the two would become one. It was all very tongue in cheek and did garner the desired effect, people talked.
